La Bouche is a German-American Eurodance duo formed in 1994 by producer Frank Farian. The group’s original lineup featured vocalist Lane McCray and singer Melanie Thornton, both previously members of Groovin’ Affairs. Positioned as a club-oriented electronic pop act, La Bouche became one of the defining voices of 1990s Eurodance and achieved significant commercial success in the international dance music market.
Signed to Farian’s MCI Records label, La Bouche released their debut album in 1995, which yielded the international breakthrough hit “Be My Lover.” The single became a defining track of mid-1990s dance music and propelled the duo into mainstream prominence.
