Maroon 5 is an American pop rock band formed in Los Angeles, California in 2001, following the previous incarnation of Kara’s Flowers. The group features lead vocalist and guitarist Adam Levine, alongside guitarists Jesse Carmichael and James Valentine, drummer Matt Flynn, keyboardist PJ Morton, and bassist Sam Farrar. Known for their energetic blend of pop sensibilities with rock instrumentation and funk influences, Maroon 5 achieved mainstream success with their debut album Songs About Jane (2002), which produced hits such as “This Love,” “Harder to Breathe,” and “She Will Be Loved.” The album reached number six on the Billboard 200 and was certified quadruple platinum, establishing the band as a major force in contemporary pop music.
