The group was formed in Stegersbach. Initially, the musicians worked as a cover-band under the title ‘The Cuban Unit’, performing “Deep Purple” and “Colloseum” hits. However, the talent and potential of each of the four had to be developed. That is why, in 1980 the band’s debut album “Daydreams” appeared on the shelves of music stores. However, the real Europe-wide fame came to the legendary ensemble only in 1985, when the name ‘Opus’ was finally chosen and the hit ‘Live is life’ started conquering numerous charts all around the world.
