About Ora The Molecule
Biography / Discography
Ora the Molecule is the stage name of Norwegian artist and producer Nora Schjelderup. Her music blends Italo-disco and space-disco influences with modern synth-pop and electronica, a sound shaped by an upbringing spent moving between Spain, Italy and Norway before she settled into music-making from a cabin in the Norwegian woods. Her sound draws on Cerrone and Giorgio Moroder-style disco production, and she has been described in the press as Norway’s queen of disco.
She released her debut album, Human Safari, in 2021, followed by a companion B-Sides and Remixes edition marking the record’s one-year anniversary. Her sophomore album, Dance Therapy, followed in March 2025, later expanded into a deluxe edition. She is affiliated with the storied UK label Mute Records.
Ora the Molecule has shared stages with fellow Norwegian electronic acts Todd Terje and Lindstrom and has opened for Royksopp. She has also lent guest vocals to other artists’ releases, including Moon Boots’ Anjunadeep track First Landing and a track on Poolside’s Ninja Tune-affiliated album. She is available to book for festivals, corporate events and private shows.
