Pekař, real name Petr Toms, is a Czech singer.
- Biography
He started playing music at the age of fifteen. He considers his musical career to be a combination of coincidences: “I didn’t expect the song Tančím to have a million views, after all, I don’t expect success for any song. If he doesn’t catch on, then what. And otherwise I’m pleasantly surprised. ” In his compositions he often sings about relationships and their ends, about clichés.
He graduated from the secondary vocational school of pedagogy in Čáslav, later he studied at the Faculty of Education of Charles University. Subsequently, he was a kindergarten teacher, but this position could not be combined with a musical career. So he quit this job and started devoting himself to music. Regarding his religious beliefs, he declared: “I do not believe in God, but I do believe in God.” In 2016, he also became the Czech Nightingale in the Discovery of the Year category.
He has been collaborating with the band Rybičky 48 for a long time, with which he recorded the song I Wanted to Say and started his concert line Kamarádi Tour with it. He introduced the members of his band as Ondřej Soukup (bass, vocals), Mickey Mikulica (drums), Jamie Oswald (guitar, vocals) and Kryštof Danczi (saxophone).
