Alexandra Irina Măruță better known as Andra, is a television star and singer. Romanian pop music, and R&B. Her first single, Andra, was released in 2001, at just 14 years old, and has remained in the top 100 since its debut in the Romanian Top 100.
Starting her musical career at the age of 7, she had her first performance in the music contest broadcast by TVR, entitled “Tip Top Minitop” – performed by Oana Ionescu – as a guest, performing Whitney Houston’s song I Will Always Love You. In addition to pop music, she also played alternative music, for which she went to a contest entitled On ballad thread at the age of 9, which took place in Târgu Jiu. After the contest ended, Andra failed to get one of the first three places, but won a mention. At the age of 11, she participated in another contest called the Autumn Folklore Interpretation Contest Festival, where this time she won first place. In addition to folk music competitions, she also competed in light music competitions, winning numerous awards.
In October 2013, the hit Andrei, “K. at Meteo ”in collaboration with What’s Up, was nominated for the“ Best Romanian Act ”at the MTV Europe Music Awards. Andra released new hits in April 2013 “Inevitably it will be good”, in December 2013 “As long as you love me!” with Marius Moga, in February 2014 with Vunk “Only for two”, in July 2014 with Liviu Teodorescu “This is love”, in January 2015, with Shift “Paper airplanes”, in April 2015, with Proconsul and Ștefan Bănică “Here with me ”, in May 2015“ Falava ”, in June 2015“ Crazy in the night ”, in August 2015“ Never say never ”, in February 2016“ Love changes everything ”and the latest single, with David Bisbal,“ Without You ”, which managed to gather over 13 million views in 9 days since its launch.
So far, the artist has released 12 albums, whose singles have enjoyed real success both in the country and abroad, selling over 500,000 copies.
