Ásgeir Trausti, known professionally as Ásgeir, is an Icelandic singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist celebrated for his haunting vocals, poetic lyricism, and atmospheric soundscapes. Born in the small town of Laugarbakki, Ásgeir rose to national fame with his 2012 debut album Dýrð í dauðaþögn, which became the fastest-selling debut in Icelandic history. The English version, In the Silence, introduced him to an international audience, earning critical acclaim and comparisons to artists like Bon Iver and James Blake.
