Bacilos is a notable Latin pop and rock band founded in Miami, Florida, in the late 1990s. Comprised of members Jorge Villamizar, André Lopes, and José Javier Freire, Bacilos quickly rose to prominence with their distinctive blend of Latin rhythms and compelling lyrics. The band’s debut album, “Bacilos,” released in 2000, marked the beginning of their ascent in the Latin music scene, featuring hits like “Tabaco y Chanel” and “Solo Un Segundo.”
Their sophomore album, “Caraluna” (2002), skyrocketed the band to international fame with the title track “Caraluna” and other hits such as “Mi Primer Millon.” This album’s success was further solidified when Bacilos won the Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Album. Continuing their streak, the group released “Sin Vergüenza” in 2004, which included chart-topping singles like “Pasos de Gigante” and “Guerras Perdidas.” Bacilos’ unique sound and relatable songwriting resonated deeply with fans worldwide, earning them multiple Latin Grammy nominations and awards.
