Harlej is a Czech rock band from Prague and Most, which was formed in 1995.
- Biography
In the spring of 1995, the band Harlej was formed in Prague. All the founding members were already in a band and either left it or just joined. Hereš and Rauer were still members of Alkehol, Šafránek and Rauer left Brian, Fiala (Kreyson) and Šůra (Band of Vilém Chok) from John Dovanni. However, the style of the new group was very different from the former ones. At the end of 2001, due to the revival of the band, three members left – Richard Karč, Ota Hereš and Dan Šůra and were replaced by members of Debustrol – Martin “Kolins” Kolínský, Martin Volák and Libor Fanta (the last two named later left Debustrol).
In 2005, Harlej recorded his two-and-a-half-hour concert in Pilsen, and the first DVD of the band was released, When We Praise, So You. Several special guests, such as Divokej Bill, Komunální odpad or Olda Říha, took part in the filming. At the same time, the last performance of the original line-up took place so far. Since 2006, the frontman is Tomáš Hrbáček, who also collaborated with the Mash group. After leaving, Saffron became a member of the Walda Gang.
In 2010, at the age of fifteen, Harlej re-recorded his favorite hits on the Harlejland CD. In 2011, the band released the CD Máte vlka, for which they recorded the video clip Cesta do ráje. In 2012, the band released another serial album called Telescopic Calf and recorded a video for the song Catalog, in which people played mainly from their fan club. Subsequently, the band went on tour and festival concerts, where the highlight was probably a performance at the Votvírák festival, where Harlej garnered an unprecedented response.
