John Cameron Fogerty (born May 28, 1945) is an American rock musician, singer, and songwriter. He co-founded the swamp rock band Creedence Clearwater Revival (CCR) with Doug Clifford, Stu Cook, and his brother Tom Fogerty, serving as lead singer, lead guitarist, and principal songwriter. Between 1968 and 1972, CCR achieved remarkable chart success with nine Top 10 singles and eight gold albums, establishing Fogerty as one of rock music’s most prolific songwriters. The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993.
Since CCR dissolved in 1972, Fogerty has maintained a successful solo career spanning five decades.
