Kevin Kern (born Kevin Lark Gibbs, December 22, 1958) is an American pianist, composer and recording artist recognized for his meditative new-age compositions. Born in Detroit, Michigan, Kern began formal piano study at age four and composed original music from age eight. He was inspired by blind pianist George Shearing and developed a distinctive harmonic style across instrumental and romantic compositions.
Kern’s professional recording career began in 1996 with In the Enchanted Garden. Over three decades, he has released twelve studio albums including Beyond the Sundial (1997), Summer Daydreams (1998), Embracing the Wind (2001), The Winding Path (2003), Imagination’s Light (2005), Endless Blue Sky (2009), Enchanted Piano (2012) and Winter’s Lullaby (2024). He has also appeared on numerous compilation and sampler collections including Eternity: A Romantic Collection (1997), Sacred Spa Music Series (2002, 2009), and Real Piano (2005). His albums have established him as a prominent figure in contemporary new-age instrumental music.
