Biography / Discography
Mr. President was a German Eurodance group formed in Bremen in 1991 by producers Jens Neumann and Kai Matthiesen. The band emerged at the height of the Eurodance movement in the 1990s and became one of Europe’s most prominent electronic dance acts, achieving widespread international recognition and establishing themselves as a significant force in the continental dance music scene.
The band’s breakthrough came with their 1996 crossover hit “Coco Jamboo,” a signature track that achieved chart success across multiple markets and became their defining international hit. The band released other notable singles including “Up’n Away” and “I’ll Follow the Sun.” Throughout its nearly two-decade existence, Mr. President featured multiple vocalists in rotating lineups, including singers Judith Hildebrandt, Daniela Haak, Nadia Ayche, Myra Beckmann, and Franziska Frank, alongside British rapper Delroy Rennalls.
The group disbanded in 2008. Since then, surviving members have maintained the band’s legacy through live performances, with Delroy Rennalls and Hungarian-born singer Erika Kovács continuing to perform as a duo, touring Europe regularly and bringing Mr. President’s Eurodance catalog to audiences worldwide.
