About Rival Sons
Biography / Discography
Rival Sons are an American rock band formed in Long Beach, California, in 2009. Known for fusing hard rock, blues and soul influences with a raw, vintage-inspired sound, the group built a reputation as one of the leading acts in the modern blues-rock revival. The band also maintains ties to Nashville, Tennessee.
The band’s lineup centers on vocalist Jay Buchanan, guitarist Scott Holiday, drummer Michael Miley and bassist Dave Beste, with keyboardist Jesse Nason contributing to recent tours. Rival Sons released their debut album, Before the Fire, in 2009, followed by Pressure and Time (2011), Head Down (2012), Great Western Valkyrie (2014) and Hollow Bones (2016), records that established their sound on rock radio and built an international touring base.
Their 2019 album Feral Roots earned the band two Grammy Award nominations, for Best Rock Album and Best Rock Song, marking a career peak. Rival Sons have released further studio albums since, bringing their catalog to eight full-length releases and an EP, and have toured extensively across North America and Europe, including major festival dates and support slots for prominent rock acts.
Rival Sons are available to book for festivals, corporate events and private shows.
