The Strumbellas
The Strumbellas are a Canadian indie rock band formed in 2008 in Lindsay, Ontario. Known for their unique blend of alternative country, folk, and Indie rock, the group quickly rose to fame with their infectious and emotive sound. The band consists of Simon Ward (vocals, acoustic guitar), David Ritter (keys, vocals), Jon Hembrey (lead guitar), Isabel Ritchie (strings), Darryl James (bass guitar), and Jeremy Drury (drums). Their breakthrough came with the release of their third album, “Hope,” featuring the hit single “Spirits,” which topped charts globally and garnered significant radio play.
Prior to “Hope,” The Strumbellas released two other albums: “My Father and the Hunter” (2012) and “We Still Move on Dance Floors” (2013). The latter won the Juno Award for Roots & Traditional Album of the Year in 2014, showcasing the band’s impressive ability to marry storytelling with pop sensibilities.
