About Gorillaz
Biography / Discography
Gorillaz are an English virtual band formed in 1998 by musician Damon Albarn and artist Jamie Hewlett. The project features four fictional band members—2-D (vocals, keyboards), Murdoc Niccals (bass), Noodle (guitar, keyboards), and Russel Hobbs (drums)—whose characters are presented through music videos, comics, and animations. With Albarn as the sole permanent musical contributor, Gorillaz explore diverse genres including hip-hop, electronic, trip-hop, synth-pop, and world music influences.
The band’s 2001 self-titled debut achieved triple platinum status in the UK and double platinum in Europe. Their 2005 album Demon Days became a global success with hit singles including “Feel Good Inc.” and “Dare.” Subsequent releases including Plastic Beach (2010), Humanz (2017), and Cracker Island (2023) received critical acclaim, with The Mountain (2026) widely regarded as one of their strongest works. Gorillaz have won a Grammy Award, MTV Europe Music Awards, and the 2018 Brit Award for Best British Group.
Available to book for festivals, corporate events, and private shows.
