Nestor was born in Trinidad in 1965 and at the age of 9 he moved to Washington, D.C. There he learned how to dance, sing and play musical instruments, such as guitar and trumpet. At the age of 14 he formed his first group, which he called “Chances”.
However, the future star decided to become a choreographer and a stylist. Therefore he moved to Cologne, Germany where he founded “Energy”, a company that was involved in fashion shows and photo-shoots organization.
But he could not live without music for too long and in 1992 he formed a band “Elegato” in tandem with the keyboardist Alex Trime.
Soon German producers Junior Turello and Dee Dee Halligan noticed the talent of the musician. Their creative alliance resulted in “What Is Love” release in 1993. The single sold more than a million copies and was certified “gold” and “platinum” in many countries. The following single entitled “Life” was no less popular.
The debut album of the singer went “gold” in some European countries and hit songs “Rock My Heart” and “I Miss You” followed by “Lover Be The Name” and “Fly Away” topped the world charts.
In 1998 the singer released one more successful recording entitled “Let’s Do It Now”, which demonstrated his move towards more lyrical music.
