Patty Ryan (legal name Birgit Hartmann) is a German Eurodisco solo performer best known for her 1986 international breakthrough hit ‘You’re My Love, You’re My Life.’ After beginning her recording career with the rockabilly group Susi & die Rockets in the early 1980s, Ryan established herself as a prominent figure in the Eurodisco genre, with her style compared to contemporaries including Modern Talking, London Boys, and Bad Boys Blue.
Ryan’s debut album, Love Is the Name of the Game (1987), featured successful tracks such as ‘Stay With Me Tonight,’ ‘Love Is the Name of the Game,’ and ‘I Don’t Wanna Lose You Tonight.’ Beyond her vocal work, she contributed as a songwriter and lyricist to her own recordings, occasionally using the pseudonym Cindy Hire. Her second album, Top of the Line, released in 1988, solidified her standing in the Eurodisco market of the late 1980s.
