Giovanni Pietro Damian, known as Sangiovanni, was born on 9 January 2003 in Vicenza, Italy, and raised in Grumolo delle Abbadesse. He emerged as a breakout star on Amici di Maria De Filippi in 2020, winning the “Singers” category and finishing second overall.

His debut EP Sangiovanni (May 2021) soared to No. 1 on the Italian charts and earned 4× platinum certification. His smash hit “Malibu” led Italy’s singles chart for four weeks and went 8× platinum. In April 2022 he released his first studio album, Cadere volare, achieving platinum status and launching the festival‑hit single “Farfalle,” which placed 5th at the Sanremo Music Festival 2022. A Spanish version featuring Aitana titled “Mariposas” also reached top chart positions in Spain.

Between 2022 and 2023, Sangiovanni toured extensively, playing major festivals and performing at sold-out venues like Rome’s Palazzetto dello Sport and Milan’s Forum di Assago. He returned to Sanremo in 2024 with the emotional ballad “Finiscimi,” and resumed his career in April 2025 after a short break with the single “Luci allo xeno.”

He has racked up nearly one billion streams, over 30 platinum and gold certifications, and played for more than 100,000 fans on his last tour. Known for his heartfelt lyrics, catchy melodies, and dynamic stage presence, Sangiovanni is a magnetic performer with wide appeal and strong youth engagement.
