The group was formed in 1966. The line-up consisted of the musicians, who previously played in “Steve Brett & The Mavericks” and “The Vendors”. The place at the drum set was taken up by Don Powell, Noddy Holder became a vocalist and rhythm guitarist, Dave Hill became a guitarist and Jim Lea was playing a violin, keyboard and bass guitar. All of the members, each one having a huge talent, contributed to the future fame of the whole group. The beginning of the colossal popularity came to the ensemble at the end of 1960s. It was connected first of all with the coming of a new manager Chas Chandler (former member of “The Animals”).
Since that time, the band released a great number of hit singles and studio albums, each one being welcomed by the audience.
