The founder and ‘God father’ is considered to be a British DJ and musician of Antiguan origin Jazzie B. He initially worked as a sound system performing at street parties and making musical experiments. Later on several other musicians joined him to create a future world-famous ensemble. The first songs were not appreciated too warm by the audience. However, in 1989 the musicians released ‘Keep On Moving’ and ‘Back to Life’. The singles immediately climbed the charts in Britain. The songs managed to hold No1 position for four weeks at a time. The first album of the band was also a success. It reached the first place in the British Album chart. It also received a ‘Platinum’ status three times.
The unique sound of the group and incomparable intermixture of different music styles brought these musicians on top of the music Olympus of Great Britain. The band several times got “Brit Awards” nomination and received many other awards including Grammy twice. The musicians frequently get invitations from European royals, Arabic sheiks and participate in different festivals. The line-up of the band reunited in 2010 for a world tour. It consisted of Jazzie B, Caron Wheeler, Rose Windross, Charlotte Kelly and several other performers. In 2013 Charlotte, being a lead singer, left the band and Wheeler replaced her.
