About Little Jesus
Biography / Discography
Little Jesus, stylized as LJ, is a five-piece Mexican indie rock band from Mexico City. Formed in July 2012, the group consists of Santiago Casillas (vocals), Juan Manuel Sánchez Rucobo (drums), Fernando Bueno (guitar), Arturo Vázquez-Vela (keyboards), and Carlos Medina (bass). Their sound draws inspiration from indie rock acts including Vampire Weekend, Radiohead, The Strokes, and Phoenix.
The band has released four studio albums: Norte (2013), Río Salvaje (2016), Disco de Oro (2019), and El show debe continuar (2024). Popular tracks include “Azul,” “Pesadilla,” “Berlín,” and “Color.” In 2023, their debut album Norte was certified Gold by AMPROFON for exceeding 30,000 copies sold.
Little Jesus has received seven Indie-O Music Awards, including Song of the Year for “Azul.” The band has collaborated with notable Latin American artists including Ximena Sariñana, Zoe Gotusso, Caloncho, and Elsa y Elmar. Their lyrics frequently explore themes of love, heartbreak, and nostalgia, often employing metaphors related to extraterrestrial imagery.
