About The Coronas
Biography / Discography
The Coronas are an Irish indie rock band from Dublin, formed in 2003. The group—featuring Danny O’Reilly, Graham Knox, and Conor Egan—originated when the three members, who met at Terenure College, reformed an earlier band called Kiros under the name Corona, changing to The Coronas to distinguish themselves from an Italian dance group. Based between Dublin and London, the band operates through their independent record label, 3ú Records.
The Coronas released their debut album Heroes or Ghosts in 2007, achieving widespread recognition with hit singles “Heroes or Ghosts” and “San Diego Song.” Their second album, Tony Was an Ex-Con (2009), earned critical acclaim and won Best Irish Album at the 2010 Meteor Awards. The band expanded their reach with Closer to You (2011), their first UK release, followed by The Long Way (2014), their debut album with Island Records.
The Coronas continued releasing new material through the following decades, with Trust The Wire (2017), True Love Waits (2020), Time Stopped (2022), and Thoughts and Observations (2024). The band maintains an active touring and festival presence, available to book for festivals, corporate events and live performances.
